1. When I try to project using a USB connection, I get a "No ShowMate Found" message and the splash screen on the ShowMate displays a lock. What does that mean?
When you see the lock on the splash screen it means you are trying to project via the ShowMate with a password protected BlackBerry and the BlackBerry PIN/password has not been registered with the ShowMate or is incorrect. You must use the ShowMate Updater utility to store/update passwords on the ShowMate. You can download this updater application from http://www.impatica.com/showmate/updater/.

2. When I try to project using a USB connection, I get a "No ShowMate Found" error. I have projected via USB before, but I can’t seem to do it again.
Try to take the battery out of your BlackBerry and re-insert it to reboot your device. Try to project again. There may have been a problem closing the USB channel on the BlackBerry (either due to unplugging the ShowMate while projecting or some other condition) in which case the BlackBerry can only release the USB channel by resetting it.

3. When I run the ShowMate updater, I get an "Error Communicating with ShowMate" message. What is wrong?
The problem could be one of three things:

1. The ShowMate is not plugged into the computer using a USB cable. Plug the ShowMate into the computer using any standard USB cable.
2. The ShowMate is not in a "ready" state. Wait until the LED (light) on the ShowMate flashes before trying to run the updater. (Note: hitting ‘retry’ should also work).
3. The driver has not been loaded. (see next FAQ below).

4. How do I load the driver for the ShowMate?
Get to the driver wizard by one of the following two methods:

1. The first time you plug the ShowMate into a computer using a standard USB port, Windows should report it has found new hardware and will launch the hardware wizard.
2. If Windows did not detect the new hardware, then right click "My Computer" and choose "Properties". Under the "Hardware" tab, click the "Device Manager" button. There should be a "Gadget Serial" device in the unknown section. Highlight it and open its properties. Click on the "Driver" tab and then choose "Update Driver".

5. I have a BlackBerry device with a 4.2.0+ operating system and I cannot project via USB. I get "No ShowMate found". Why is that?
Starting with BlackBerry OS 4.2.0, USB channels created by third party applications have some new restrictions. This affects the ability to transfer presentations from the handheld to the ShowMate via USB. To use your ShowMate with these BlackBerry devices please ensure that you have the latest upgrades for all software and firmware:

  1. Uninstall your current version of Impatica for PowerPoint using "Add or Remove Programs" in the Windows Control Panel;
  2. Download the installer file (setupppt.exe) and install the software. Your registration information and preferences will be retained.

  Instructions:

  Instructions:
  1. The best way to install the viewer is to go directly to http://www.impatica.com/bb on your BlackBerry. Follow the on-screen instructions;
  2. The second method is to go to the above link on a PC and download the zip archive. Unzip the archive and then do the following:
     1. From your PC launch the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (ensure you are using version 4.2 SP1);
     2. Connect your BlackBerry handheld to your Windows PC via USB;
     3. Within the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double click on the Application Loader icon to run the Application Loader Wizard;
     4. Follow the prompts to the Device Application Selection page;
     5. Click Add and browse to "ImpaticaViewerOnly.alx" file in the location to which you extracted the zip package contents;
     6. Click Open. Then click Next to complete the installation.
