Major changes in the air!
A look ahead to 2007

What changes will 2007 bring? Let's take a look at how three highly anticipated Microsoft 2007 technology changes may affect the way you use Impatica:

1. Microsoft PowerPoint 2007. Microsoft expects to release Office 2007 (which includes PowerPoint 2007) at the end of January 2007. At long last: this is the third release date Microsoft has announced! At Impatica, we've looked at the Beta version of PowerPoint 2007, and there are some exciting, major changes with the interface, as well as a brand new file format. But until MS provides a stable release of this new product, the Impatica product requirements will not change. We will continue to support PowerPoint 97, 2000, PowerPoint 2002 (XP), PowerPoint 2003 or PowerPoint X (Mac OS X). We expect to support PowerPoint 2007 by Summer 2007.

2. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. If you haven't upgraded to Microsoft's new browser, Internet Explorer 7.0, you probably will sometime during 2007. This is a major browser upgrade that includes new features like stronger security, tabbed browsing, and easier push-button RSS subscriptions. You can rest assured that your Impatica for PowerPoint presentations still play beautifully when you upgrade to this very popular new browser.

3. Microsoft Vista. Microsoft released a new operating system called Vista to business users only on November 30, 2006. And while Microsoft expects to release Vista to the general public in early 2007, the company has yet to announce a specific date. We are working feverishly to test and ensure that Impatica for PowerPoint will work seamlessly with this hotly anticipated new operating system.

We're going to continue to hear plenty of buzz and see tons of technology changes in 2007. It's not just Microsoft: many other high-tech companies—including Impatica—will continue to offer software improvements to meet your changing needs. For 2007 and beyond, expect Impatica to deliver the best in plug-in free, streaming delivery of your online presentations.

Sprint and Simply Wireless offer Impatica ShowMate to their BlackBerry customers

In November 2006, Impatica announced that Sprint Nextel is the first wireless carrier to offer the Impatica ShowMate as a must-have accessory for its BlackBerry customers. The Impatica ShowMate is the first and only device of its kind to project PowerPoint presentations from a BlackBerry device.

In the same month, Simply Wireless, a leading national provider of wireless technology for consumers and businesses in the US, has also agreed to offer its clients Impatica's comprehensive solution for PowerPoint viewing and projecting on BlackBerry handhelds.

BlackBerry usage is already strong in 2006: expect these devices to become even more popular in 2007. The Impatica ShowMate has been called "the best accessory for BlackBerry in the market" by Paul Donald, a Vice President at Research In Motion (the company that makes the BlackBerry).
