Add Content Above & Below your Impatica Presentation
A simple example proves that HTML isn't SCARY!
After you have impaticized your presentation for online delivery, you may wish
to add content to the areas above and below your presentation. To do this, you
will need two additional software tools: an HTML (or text) editor and an FTP client (optional).
Not so scary, after all. Some people see HTML code or computer acronyms and they
freeze with terror. "HTML! FTP! The horror! I can't go on!" But don't be afraid. The following exercise will show that adding a few simple lines can greatly enhance your online presentations. And relax: it's not even a little bit scary!
Step One: use your HTML or text editor. Use your favorite HTML or text editor to open up the ".html" file that Impatica for PowerPoint generates when you impaticize a PowerPoint presentation. (Don't have an HTML editor? Try using a text editor like Notepad, WordPad, or TextPad. Chances are, one of these programs is already installed on your PC.) With an HTML or text editor, you can easily add content that makes your online presentation more meaningful.
For example, let's say you impaticized a simple 3-slide PowerPoint presentation with clipart, animation, and music called
"Boo.ppt".

To add the text This is a 17 second presentation
directly above this impaticized presentation, use your HTML or text editor to type this phrase right between the CENTER tag and APPLET code tag in your Impatica HTML file (see black text below.)
(see black text below.)

To add text directly below your presentation, type whatever you wish between </APPLET> and </CENTER> (see black text above). In this example, the HTML code links to a fictional website called YourWebsite.com. Naturally, you would need to replace YourWebsite.com with the URL or Web address of YOUR actual website in order for the link to work!
You can add any content you wish to increase the readability and usability of your presentation. Use your creative skills or advanced HTML skills to give your audience even more useful information or instructions. You can provide slide notes, links to other sites, advertising: the sky is the limit! And of course, you may use any HTML formatting options you wish, as well.
Step Two: use your FTP client or the Impatica for PowerPoint Put Other... button. After you are done editing your HTML file, save it (ensure you retain the ".html" file extension). Next, use your favorite FTP client (or the Impatica for PowerPoint Put Other... button) to upload this file to your site. If you have already used Impatica for PowerPoint's Put File or Put All Files button to upload your impaticized presentation, you will overwrite your old ".html" file: this is exactly what you want to do. If you have NOT used the Put File or Put All Files button, you can use your FTP client (or the Impatica for PowerPoint Put Other... button) to upload any other files Impatica generated, as well.
That's all there is to it! Even if you don't have an HTML editor or FTP client installed on your computer, you can always search for "free HTML editor" and "free FTP client" at your favorite search engine. You will undoubtedly find many easy-to-use and completely free tools that can enhance your online presentations as well as your productivity. Armed with these two tools, you are ready to begin adding more content to your Impaticized presentations.
And that's not scary at all!
Use Impatica to
send fun Holiday Greetings
It's not just for Halloween, Pumpkin!
When the year rolls into the final quarter, it's time to start thinking about sending holiday greetings to friends, family, colleagues, customers, and students. And while e-mail is a great way to keep in touch, how can you use Impatica for PowerPoint to help you make a bigger impact this holiday season?
The answer lies in the E-mail tab that appears after you use the Put File or Put All Files button on the Web Server Upload tab in Impatica for PowerPoint. Click on the E-mail tab, and then click the Copy button.

Next, open your e-mail client. Paste your HTML code (Ctrl+V) directly into your e-mail source area. At this point, you may wish to add some content above or below your e-mailed presentation. Use the same techniques discussed in the above article.
After you have finished editing or adding content to your e-mail, hit the Send button in your e-mail client. For more detailed instructions on receiving and viewing impaticized e-mail, visit our
