Your Essential 5-Point Impatica Setting Review
Use this handy checklist to prepare for your busy seasons
Traditionally, summer is a slower time for businesses and educators. This makes
July and August a great time to review the Impatica software settings that can
save you time and make you more productive when you get really busy again in
autumn.
Here is your essential, five-point Impatica software setting checklist you need
to be more productive than ever before:
1. New or Classic? Version 3.3.3h of Impatica for
PowerPoint gives you the option of new or classic file formats. Which should you
choose?

The new “-imp.jar” file is definitely more powerful—it
contains your impaticized presentation PLUS the Impatica player applet. This
means you can distribute the new -imp.jar presentation as a convenient
stand-alone file that will play automatically on computers with Sun Java installed. Further, within the File menu of
the -imp.jar file, you'll also find a "Print" option where viewers can
automatically print every slide in the presentation. Bottom line? Selecting the
"New" Impatica file format lets you deliver a stand alone presentation PLUS
makes printing your presentation much easier and faster.
2. What about BlackBerry? If you are sending impaticized
presentations to BlackBerry users, you have the option of selecting the
BlackBerry file format. When you do, the impaticized presentation will be saved
as two files with the extensions “.alx” and “.cod”. These files make it possible
for BlackBerry users to see your presentation. And by clicking on the "Target
Screen dimensions" drop-down in Impatica for PowerPoint, (see below) you can
choose the BlackBerry model your audience will be using to ensure a perfect
presentation fit.

3. Apply to All and Save as Default Buttons. These two
buttons can be real time-savers. Here's how they work: Impatica for PowerPoint
has three tabs: Slide Show, Media, and Extra Output Files. Each tab includes
two buttons: Apply to All and Save as Default.

Click the Apply to All button to apply the settings on the
current tab to all of the files displayed in the Source PowerPoint Files list.
Click the Save as Default button to apply the settings on this tab to any
files you add to Impatica for PowerPoint in the future.
4. Post your notes. Exporting and uploading show
notes puts your presentation in context for your audience. To export, select one
of the options below. (We chose "HTML file".)

To upload your show HTML show notes after you have impaticized your presentation, click "Put Other" (see below) on the Web Server Upload tab and
select your "-notes.html" file from your hard drive.

5. Save Time Posting Your Files. If you already know you have the
Impatica applet installed on your server, in the Connection dialog box de-select the option marked "Upon
connecting, ensure Impatica applet is on server". This can significantly
decrease the time it takes you to connect and upload your files. Clicking on
"Remember Password" can also help you save time.

Sometimes, we all can get so busy we overlook the features that
can make us more productive when we're racing to meet an important deadline.
Summer is a good time to check the five Impatica features shown above to make
sure you are prepared to be your most productive when autumn leaves begin to
fall!

Cool! Learn to Speak Spanish with Impatica Online Flashcards

Many language teachers use flashcards as a fun and effective way to help
students learn new vocabularies. And today's teachers often use PowerPoint to
create more visually appealing electronic flashcards with clearly narrated
pronunciation aids for their students.
The next step? Put your PowerPoint flashcards online, so that students
can access them whenever they choose.
In this
excellent online example, you'll see how Impatica for PowerPoint helps
Spanish students learn how to say and spell the seasons and their
corresponding months. With a few clicks, Impatica can put your training
materials online—making them more accessible and useful.
