1. I keep getting the No ShowMate found dialog box. How can I get this to work?
- Ensure that the ShowMate is powered using the BlackBerry charger and ready for projecting. If powered correctly, you should see the LED in the ‘I’ of Impatica lit up. The ShowMate is ready when the splash screen is displayed.
- If you are using a password protected Blackberry, you must use the ShowMate Updater desktop application to enter Blackberry PINs and passwords that will be used with the ShowMate. The Updater application and ShowMate driver can be downloaded from: http://www.impatica.com/showmate/updater/
Only after committing those changes will you be able to project on the ShowMate from a password protected Blackberry. NOTE: there is no need to do this step if you are projecting via Bluetooth.
- If using a USB connection, ensure the BlackBerry is connected to the ShowMate using the provided USB cable.
- If using a Bluetooth connection, ensure the Bluetooth adapter has been inserted in the ShowMate before powering up. NOTE: 03 and some 02 series ShowMates have Bluetooth built in
- If you are using multiple ShowMates and it is possible the adapters could have been swapped between the units, you can try to remove the Bluetooth pairing on the BlackBerry and re-pair the ShowMate.
2. The documentation indicates that the ShowMate LED should flash 3 times after powering it on but my ShowMate doesn’t flash. What am I missing?
The 3 flashes indicate that the ShowMate is ready to be updated. The ShowMate must be connected to a computer via the USB cable in order for it to be updated and for the LED to flash.
3. When I project on the ShowMate, the image is unusually bright and the colors are off. What's going on?
Ensure that you are powering the ShowMate from the BlackBerry adapter and NOT from a computer. Also verify that the VGA connection from the ShowMate to the projector is tightly secured.
4. When I project on the ShowMate, nothing is projected on the screen but my Impatica Presentation Viewer indicates that it is connected. What am I doing wrong?
Check the serial number on the back of your ShowMate. If the serial number begins with "01-IM" your ShowMate may not have the hardware modification that fixes a particular compatibility problem with some new digital projectors. If this scenario applies to you, you would qualify for a free ShowMate upgrade. Contact support@impatica.com if this situation applies to you.
5. What prevents multiple people from projecting on the same ShowMate via Bluetooth simultaneously?
When the ShowMate is projecting via Bluetooth, another person cannot project a presentation on the same ShowMate via Bluetooth. They will receive a "ShowMate is busy" message.
6. While projecting my presentation I wanted to view the notes for a future slide. Every time I tried this the slide got projected. How can I view notes for a previous or future slide while keeping the current slide projected?
This is occurring because you are operating the Impatica Presentation Viewer in "Linked" mode. This mode causes all navigation actions taken in the Impatica Presentation Viewer to be reflected in the projected presentation. In order to view notes for a slide other than the one which is being projected, place the Impatica Viewer in "Unlinked" mode prior to selecting to view those notes.
STEPS:
- Place the Impatica Presentation Viewer in the Slide List mode.
- Click the trackwheel to reveal the Impatica Presentation Viewer menu and select "Unlink Views". You will notice that the tiny chain icon below the slide counter bar will become broken.
- Navigate to the slide you wish to view the notes for but not project.
- Click the trackwheel to reveal the Impatica Presentation Viewer menu and select "View Notes". You will notice that the notes for the selected slide are revealed on the device but that the slide counter bar still indicates that the projected slide has not changed.
For further information on using Linked and Unlinked Modes, please see pages 22-24 of the Impatica ShowMate v. 2.2 User’s Manual. http://www.impatica.com/showmate/SM-BB-Manual-22.pdf.
