1. When I select the Project button and select my ShowMate from the list I get a warning message "Bluetooth Error: 10022" or "Bluetooth not enabled". How can I fix that?
You must enable Bluetooth on your handheld. This is device dependent but you can check Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > set to On.
2. When I select the "Project" button I get the "Project to" screen but there are no ShowMates in the list. How do I get my Bluetooth-connected ShowMate to be added to this list?
On the "Project to" screen select "New ShowMate" to discover your ShowMate, select "Yes" when prompted to "Add to My Devices?", and enter the correct passkey. If you successfully paired with your ShowMate, it will now be listed on the "Project to" screen.
3. What is the name of my ShowMate?
The default name for the ShowMate is ShowMate <6 digit #> where the 6 digit # is the last 6 digits in the last block of digits in the ShowMate serial number found on the back of the device.
4. Can I change the name of my ShowMate?
No, you cannot. Some devices will cache the Bluetooth name even after you change it which can lead to confusion.
5. What is the passkey for my ShowMate?
The default passkey for the ShowMate is the first 4 digits in the last block of digits in the ShowMate serial number found on the back of the device.
6. Can I change the passkey for my ShowMate?
No, you cannot change the passkey.
7. I can’t seem to pair my Windows Mobile handheld with the ShowMate unless I put the two devices very close together. Is this normal?
Bluetooth pairing can be adversely affected if your Windows Mobile handheld shows low battery life. Check the battery level of your handheld and recharge if necessary.

8. When I project via Bluetooth I keep getting disconnected. What's going on?
Ensure that you are staying within the Bluetooth range supported by your device. You should be able to maintain a connection within a 10m range of the ShowMate; however, with some handhelds we are seeing ranges around 20m. If you are within the range supported by your handheld verify that the power adapter is supplying a constant charge. If you look at the ShowMate LED it should maintain a constant intensity.
9. I can’t seem to pair the ShowMate with my handheld. What am I doing wrong?
- Ensure that you have Bluetooth enabled on your handheld.
- Ensure that the provided Bluetooth adapter is inserted in the ShowMate (this is applicable if your ShowMate does not have built-in Bluetooth—series "03" and some "02" models) and the ShowMate is powered on (LED should be on).
- Wait for the splash screen to be displayed before trying to pair with the ShowMate.
Note: Pairing with the ShowMate is done within the Impatica Viewer application and not through the Bluetooth connection settings of your handheld.
10. When I try to add a device in the Bluetooth menu my ShowMate shows up with name "ShowMate ??????". Why is that?
It is possible that your ShowMate has corrupt firmware. Try to upgrade the firmware using the ShowMate upgrader which is available for download from http://www.impatica.com/showmate/updater/. If the upgrade does not work then your ShowMate will have to be shipped back to us for an exchange. If this situation applies to you, please contact Impatica Customer Support at support@impatica.com.
11. I lost my Bluetooth adapter. Can I use any Bluetooth adapter with the ShowMate?
