Why is my impaticized file larger than my original document?

On average, the compression of a narrated PowerPoint presentation is 90% or more. Presentations that are not narrated will experience much less compression, generally in the 30%-60% range. If your document is extremely text heavy, it is likely that you will notice a smaller amount of compression in the file size after translation. This is due to the fact that the text is rendered into a graphic to ensure that it will play properly on all playback platforms. This necessary step increases the size of the text component of your presentation.

My presentation hangs when I try to translate.

Although this should not happen, there are a couple of situations where you might experience a hang during the translation. If your PowerPoint presentation is extremely large, or if it contains imported pictures and other graphics for which the format has somehow been corrupted, a hang might occur. It would help if you could try to isolate the problem, perhaps by splitting the presentation in half until you have determined which slide or slides are causing the problem. In this way, we can probably suggest a temporary solution to address your immediate problem and make the necessary software changes to properly resolve the problem in a future release of the product.
