How do I generate the HTML required to send my impaticized presentation
by e-mail?
My impaticized e-mail presentation will not play
on Macintosh clients. All I get is a link to a Web Site.
I
just upgraded to Internet Explorer 6.0 and now I can't view Impatica
e-mails in Outlook Express. I get an Active X control error message.
Why?
I'm using Eudora as an e-mail client. I understand
that Eudora supports Java applets in e-mail messages, but I can't
view Impatica e-mails. What is the problem?
How do I change the size of my Impatica for PowerPoint presentation?
I
am getting an Acitve X error when I try to view impaticized e-mails

How do I generate the HTML
required to send my impaticized presentation by e-mail?
Impatica
for PowerPoint will automatically generate the basic HTML
required to send your impaticized presentation as a streaming
e-mail. The e-mail HTML can be found within the "E-mail HTML"
tab of the Impatica for PowerPoint software. The "E-mail
HTML" tab will only become visible after a PowerPoint file
has been translated.
E-mail
HTML is created while uploading your impaticized presentation
to your server. Using the ftp settings you provide in the "Connect
to Server" dialogue box, unique HTML code is written. This
HTML includes all of the elements necessary to ensure proper playback
on as many e-mail clients as possible, including a link to a web
page that will be displayed if the recipient's e-mail client is
not Java enabled. You may also wish to modify or add HTML text
and/or graphics to the e-mail message surrounding the area in
which the presentation will play.
To
do this, open the HTML document that was generated by Impatica
for PowerPoint using a text editor (Note Pad, Word Pad and Text
Pad are three common programs that should already exist on your
PC.) Make the required changes and re-save the document. Depending
on which e-mail package you are using to send the e-mail, it might
also be possible to edit the HTML and preview the results within
the e-mail program itself.
If
you are not using Imaptica for PowerPoint to upload your files
to your server and you need help with incorporating impaticized
content into an e-mail, please contact Impatica Customer Support
directly.

My impaticized e-mail presentation
will not play on Macintosh clients. All I get is a link to a Web
Site.
This
is dependent on the e-mail client you are using. Microsoft Outlook
and Outlook Express for Macintosh are not Java enabled, which
means that it is not capable of recognizing and playing the required
Java Applets, like the ones that are used to play Impatica streaming
media content. If the HTML for the e-mail was properly constructed,
using the HTML that was generated during the translation process,
recipients with non-Java enabled e-mail clients will see a link
to the target presentation on the web with the Impatica file.

I just upgraded to Internet Explorer 6.0 and
now I can't view Impatica e-mails in Outlook Express. I get an
Active X control error message. Why?
Installing
Internet Explorer 6.0 will also install Outlook Express 6.0 on
your computer. While the security settings for Internet Explorer
will not be changed by this upgrade, the security settings for
Outlook Express will. By default, the security settings for Outlook
Express 6 will be configured to block Java applets, Active X controls
and other executables in e-mail messages. Under this configuration,
when a Java applet or Active X control is detected in an e-mail
message the error warning is triggered.
To
change your security settings to allow Impatica e-mails, simply
go to the "Tools" menu in Outlook Express 6.0, select
the "Options" item from the menu. A dialog box will
appear with a series of tabs. Select the "Security"
tab. Select the radio button that has the caption "Internet
Zone (less secure, more functional)". Click "Apply"
and close the dialog box. You should now be able to view Impatica
e-mails.

I'm using Eudora as an e-mail client. I
understand that Eudora supports Java applets in e-mail messages,
but I can't view Impatica e-mails. What is the problem?
Most
recent versions of Eudora do support Java applets in e-mail messages,
however, Java is turned off by default. You must manually enable
Java in your Eudora mail client. To do this:
1.
Select the "Tools" menu item.
2. Select "Options" from the menu provided.
3. Select "Viewing Mail" from the categories on the
left of the dialog box that appears.
4. Check the "Allow executables in HTML content" checkbox.
5. Click "OK" to return to your regular mail screen.
This
should enable you to view Java applets, and Impatica e-mails,
with your Eudora mail client.

How do I change the size of my Impatica for PowerPoint
presentation?
The
size of the impaticized presentation is determined by the "Page
Size" dimensions that you set for your source PowerPoint
file. These settings are adjusted within PowerPoint by selecting
"Page Set-Up" from the "File" menu. From this
point you would adjust the Width and Height properties of your
slides. Some suggested dimensions are:
1.
To achieve full screen for 1024 x 768 resolution, select 10"W
x 7.5"H; 25.4cm W x 19.0cm H
2. To achieve full screen for 800 x 600 resolution, select 7.5"W
x 5.6"H; 19.05 cm W x 14.3 cm H
3. For e-mail delivery select 7"W x 5.3"H; 17.8 cm W
x 10.2cm H
For
achieving other proportionate size adjustments, please refer to
this chart (requires
Adobe®Acrobat Reader®).

3. Select the "Security" tab in the "Options"
dialog box.
4. In the "Secure Content" section, change the "Zone
Setting" to "Internet" from "Restricted Sites"
5. Click "OK" to return to your regular mail screen.

with your Outlook mail client.
