Orange County Department of Education Uses Impatica Products to Improve Staff Development and Parent Communications

Orlando, Florida, March 6, 2002 - At the Florida Educational Technology Conference Impatica announced that the Orange County Department of Education has endorsed the use of Impatica software to deliver high quality presentations over the Internet.

The Orange County Department of Education is always striving to improve communication with teachers and parents throughout their 28 school districts and 566 schools. Orange County, like many Departments of Education, has the in-house expertise to create high quality videos and PowerPoint presentations. However, delivering those presentations over the Internet has been a major problem.

"I spent hours trying to convert my PowerPoint presentations to the web and still was not happy with the results. Then I found Impatica!" said Scott Garland, Coordinator Instructional Technology, Orange County Department of Education. "They have desktop tools that significantly compress my PowerPoint files and convert them for web delivery with ease. Their OnCue product lets me put video synchronized with PowerPoint on the Internet. Viewers don't need to have PowerPoint or any other plug-in to see and hear our presentations. It's simple to use yet the results are impressive!" he added.

Another problem that was solved by Impatica was the wide variety of computer hardware and software being used. In a large district like Orange County some people have up-to-date systems while others are several years old. Mixed Macintosh and Windows platforms complicate matters further.

"Teachers and parents have every imaginable combination of computers, communications and other Internet equipment. Impatica allows us to maximize our reach with a single solution because it works on any computer system," said Garland.

"We are very proud of the fact that Impatica's desktop tools are being used by Orange County. We look forward to working with the Orange County Department of Education as they expand teacher training applications, parent communication and usage in the classroom," said Michael Doyle, CEO of Impatica.
